2010 was a very special year for us as the RSJ Restaurant celebrated its 30th year. We held a number of special events through the year to mark our 30th birthday.

Celebration harvest Italian lunch – Sunday 27th September

Ursula Ferrigno, celebrated Italian cook and food writer will be at RSJ on this date.

The lunch starts at 1.00pm and you will be given a glass of wine on arrival.
 
Vendemmia

Vendemmia, the Italian harvest – this is surely the best time to enjoy sun ripened produce. The light is changing at this time of year but the days remain cool and bright – nature’s bounty is to be celebrated and enjoyed!

We have put together a mixed case featuring 5 different styles of Loire Sauvignon from some of our favourite growers, all ideal for drinking this Summer and beyond!

4 bottles 2014 Touraine ‘Le Clos’ Vincent Roussely
Vincent is a dynamic young vigneron based at Angé (Cher Valley) in Touraine .

He did part of his training in the New World and came back to take over family vineyards where he works organically. This wine has a lovely freshness and ripe rounded fruit.
His wines have been hugely popular since we started importing from him 4 years ago.  

2 bottles 2014 Sancerre ‘Les Pierris’ Roger Champault et Fils 
Roger’s sons, Laurent & Claude, have taken over the running of this family property at Champtin in Sancerre and have scaled new heights with this delicious wine full of ripe fruit and with a lovely balance.

2 bottles 2014 Pouilly Fumé, Domaine Treuillet, Sébastien Treuillet
Sébastien has only a few hectares of vines but is rapidly establishing himself as a real star in this famous appellation and his wines regularly pick up numerous awards and commendations at wine fairs .This wine has a lovely clear cut minerality and is beautifully balanced.

2 bottles 2014 Quincy Domaine des Ballandors, Jean Tatin & Chantal Wilk Jean & Chantal have been joined in the business by their daughter, Maroussia and their award winning wine from this increasingly fashionable appellation relatively near to Sancerre, has great elegance as well as an excellent length and balance.

2 bottles 2014 Reuilly ‘Les Lignis’ Les Desmoiselles Tatin
The Tatin family have a small domaine in the appellation of Reuilly where the vines are planted on high terraces above the river Arnon. This wine has a fine aromatic character.
